Most Wanted Toys

I`ve always loved Lego trains!

Most Wanted Toys, Lego trains have always fascinated me. They are fun to look at, and even more fun to play with.

by Kevin R. Burns

As a child the big diesel engines and the steam engines from movies, books and the occasional one still running in Canada made me stop and look.

Miniature trains are a jot and Lego makes some great ones. You may want to weather them with Lego safe paints if you want them to look more realistic - to look like they have been workhorses for years. I like the realistic look myself. However you may want them to look new, like they are just out of the box.

One idea is to pain the rails of the tracks silver. Lego used to sell silver (stainless steel) tracks, but to keep their prices down they no longer do so. So you may want to paint them silver to get a more realistic look.

I love Lego buildings, cars and trains, but for the natural environment--shrubs and trees, personally I prefer them from companies like Woodlands Scenics. I like a flock grass mat better than a green Lego baseplate for scenery.

You may disagree though. If you are a Lego purist though, you will want to make your own trees with Lego.

The main thing with Lego is to do what YOU like and enjoy the hobby!
