Lego Harry Potter

Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle, a Review

by Lyanne Thomas

The famous story by J.K Rowling of a young boy who, on his eleventh birthday, finds out that he is not an ordinary boy but a wizard and is to be sent to Hogwarts castle to learn and master wizardry.

The Lego Hogwarts Castle set is one of the most amazing sets Lego has produced. It makes the Potter fans dream a reality - of being at Hogwarts. With nearly 1,300 pieces, Hogwarts Castle is immense. The castle is composed of 4 main sections that can be played with separately or locked altogether to produce one giant castle.

The first section is the headmaster's office with the sliding spiral staircase. Dumbledore's desk is full of nifty items, which is great. The bookshelves have hidden compartments which are absolutely interesting.

The second section is the Great Hall. The great hall features stained glass windows, tables and benches for students and an area for teachers to sit, - together with foods and goblets. Likewise the Gryffindor and Slytherin House banners are also to be seen in the great hall.

The third section contains the Owlery and the Slytherin and Gryffindor common rooms. You'll see Sirius Black's face in the fireplace and a room with Tom Riddle's diary. This three-story tower is not only amazing but is a fascination for fans who have followed the story of Harry Potter from beginning to end.

The fourth and final section is the Astronomy Tower. It has a telescope on the roof and the second floor of the tower leads to the restricted section of the library. The bottom floor leads to the Room of Requirement.

There are tons of accessories included in this set too, among them are three owls, a basilisk fang, the sorting hat, the Sword of Gryffindor, an invisibility cloak, a Hogwart's crest, a vanishing cabinet, the Marauder's map and issues of The Quibbler and The Daily Prophet.

Aside from accessories, there are also nine characters included in the Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts castle and they are:

Harry Potter, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Lord Voldemort, Headmaster and Professor Dumbledore, Professor Snape, Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick, Argus Filch and his cat, Mrs. Norris and 2 Dementors.

Lego Harry Potter is a great addition to any Lego collector or any fan of the Harry Potter series.
