Lego for Girls

Lego has slowly made more effort to offer more lego for girls. Which is very good because it is a great learning tool in many ways. It shouldn`t be just the boys who get to benefit from it.

Belville

Belville is the Lego category catering to girls. Lego makes different sets in themes girls enjoy. Lego seems to put out different Bellville sets and what is available changes every year.

In 2005 Lego had many fantasy themed Belville for girls and my daughter got a set for Christmas. So she has enjoyed it off and on since then. Our daughter is 9 and still enjoys her Belville set.

She has Belville sets 5861 and 5862 and she says: "It is cute!" (So is she!)

This set seems hard to find now.

These sets are recommended for 5-10 year old girls and there were quite a few sets made: 5859, 5856, 5857, and 5858 as well as 5861 and 5862.

Probably some are available at Ebay. The sets are fantasy based with some tinkerbell like characters that can fly, a horse with a prince, and a cinderella like building--very small. There are even some very cute snails! (I know you`ve never felt snails are particularly cute, but these ones are believe me.)

These sets do have some doll house like items as well that many girls will like. They are pretty basic sets though.

As the sets are pretty basic in my opinion (not much to them) and they come with that famous Lego price, I don`t know if I would recommend getting any of them unless your daughter really wanted one.
