LEGO CRANE - A TOY FOR PROFESSIONALS? Lego was originally made for the kids and they were primarily aimed as playing and learning tools for children. The toys were made from plastic, which were initially made for kids of age 5 or less. Who knew that this “Toys for Kids” Company would one day become a way for architects and designers to express their ideas? I am talking about Lego cranes - they are toys for the kids, a hobby for some and an addiction to others. These cranes have definitely made a mark in the market. It is one of those toys which adults also play with and take pleasure in. Architects and designers use it for their prototypes; they make mock-ups and test their ideas. If it works well then they go for it, and if it does not, they just try something else. This saves a lot of money. Certainly, to make a real crane a lot of capital is required but it is not the case with Lego cranes. While they serve the architects, they also do not forget the kids! After all the Lego company, was launched specifically for children. Kids can also buy the toy crane and try to make their own designs or they can buy pre-designed cranes, just for fun. The motorized Lego toy crane is also an excellent toy to play with for children. They play and enjoy but in the meantime they also learn how a real crane works. In fact, the functions of a Lego toy crane are exactly the same as a real one! Children get a practical example of the principles of physics, pulleys, and engineering. These creative toys are particularly helpful for toddlers, (with adult supervision) of course. If you want to make your own Lego crane, then all you have to do is get a lego bricks set from the market and start building one. Be creative and see what you can make. Lego has definitely made life easier for students as well. By using Lego bricks, the students create a prototype before spending huge amount of money on an actual project. Some of the crane designs have been converted into real time cranes that work on actual construction sites. As well, many of the Lego designs come from original cranes.
